Cake and a Deer Sighting

After an early morning walk, I met up with the morning dippers at the waterfront. How better to start your day off than dipping in the lake up to your shoulders? After three morning dips, they receive the “Morning Dip” crest — a section of the camp crest pie!

Guides and Brownies were able to get in canoes and do some paddling today and, of course, some swimming. Now imagine 19 Guides in the water swimming and guess who was taking a dip in the bay to the right of us….? A family of deer! It was a special sight to see for some lucky campers!

It was a celebratory day at Camp Wa-Thik-Ane with not one, not two, but three birthday girls on the Guide site. Last night, our amazing waterfront team went into town for cake mix and icing and made a cake for the birthday girls. Tonight we sang happy birthday and along with three huge smiles, there was a serving of cake for everyone.

Happy campers all around!

After a very busy day working in the hot sun, our amazing waterfront team:
    1) drove to town to buy a cake mix, icing & decorations,
    2) baked the cake
    3) decorated the cake.
    What awesome thoughtful individuals!
Super Eagle, all the campers & volunteers at Wa-Thik-Ane summer camp 2019 are very blessed to have them.
