Wow, our first week of camp has come and gone! By now all the week 1 campers have enjoyed a long hot shower and their beds. It seems like it only takes the time to blink for a week to go by, but so many great memories were made! Friday was a big day with the Pathfinders doing a great swim and earning their “Long Lake challenge” crest. It was a tough swim with a few waves making tired swimmers work even harder but they all accomplished it!
Friday afternoon brought a paddle to Blueberry Island for the Guides in canoes with a welcome dip at the island. As Pip stepped out of her canoe she spotted something on the ground. It turned out to be a loon egg in its nest. All of the girls were able to have the opportunity to see it — a great learning opportunity.
Friday night, everyone on site was invited to a fantastic performance put on by the Pathfinders. They impressed up with their creativity and talents!
Saturday brought departure for happy campers and Sunday welcomed new arrivals. We shared a delicious barbecue together for supper after a chilly afternoon of swim testing.
Tomorrow brings our first full day of camp for our new girls with lots of waterfront time for boating and swimming.
