Days of Summer at Wa-Thik-Ane: A day on the Waterfront

Mother Nature smiled down on us today with a beautiful morning full of sunshine for our Water Regatta Day. Laughter was a big part of the morning as the groups of all ages went from station to station for the different water games. It was amusing to watch the girls put on pants and sweaters in the water and try to swim with them on; definitely one of those things that looks easier than it is. Everyone was wet and happy at the end of another successful water regatta day – thank you waterfront staff!

After regatta it was a quick hot dog lunch and then off to the parking lot for the Brownies who had accomplished their 3-night camp. Hugs all around and they were off home with a great set of memories to share.

At three o’clock in the afternoon, the remaining campers headed down to waterfront for one more big event. All hands were on deck — leaders geared up in life jackets and got in the water. Campers were ready and they were off to swim over to the short side of the lake and back. The Short Lake Swim is not a race, everyone swims at their own pace, but they get a sense of accomplishment (and yes, a crest!). Well done ladies, everyone who jumped in made the swim there and back; another piece of the crest pie earned.

Pip, Scooby, Coral, Flounder and Kit Kat, you made it an amazing day on the waterfront for camp. Thank you!

Super Eagle signing off,
