Today brought our first camp day of wet weather to Wa-Thik-Ane. It did not dampen spirits however as I still saw adventure campers running between downpours to complete their camp tour crest. They even had some dry moments to take photographic evidence that they were at some of the sites.
We had a special visit from Valerie Zaloum, our Provincial Commissioner, who took time out of her busy schedule before leaving on a trip to India to come and visit the girls and pass out her crest.
Monday is usually the day that the campers do dry dock to learn about the basic boating rules and safety and it was a good day not to be out on the water. The experienced Guide site was able to earn their boat safety badge thanks to our fabulous waterfront staff. Brownies had an afternoon of dry dock, games and songs. Rumor has it that we ended the day with a big thunder and lightening storm while we were safely tucked in our beds.
