We could win some much needed funding for our Wa-Thik-Ane waterfront so we can continue to offer quality programming in a safe environment for everyone to enjoy!
Camp Wa-Thik-Ane was founded in 1926 by the Quebec Council of Girl Guides of Canada–Guides du Canada, one of the largest and oldest all female recreation organizations in the country. With award winning programming and leadership, it is no wonder that Girl Guiding/Scouting is practiced in over 144 countries around the world. In its 87 years of operation, Girl Guide Camp Wa-Thik-Ane has always strived to provide a well balanced program that promotes the Girl Guide principles of:
- Safety and Support
- Self-respect and Respect for Others
- Fun, Friendship, Adventure and Challenge
- Leadership and Decision-making
- Practical Skills Building and Teamwork
- Environmental Appreciation
We believe that girls can do anything they put their minds to, and encourage all girls to develop their true potential through traditional camp activities and new approaches to outdoor fun. Over the last few years, Quebec Council has been faced with an ever growing list of fiscal demands to keep the camp operational and safe for our girls. This year, the list has grown even more. Our main area of need is our waterfront. To keep our boats afloat, we need to replace our docks, repair our boats, purchase new paddles and lifejackets to keep our kids safe. Without your help, our boats may be docked for the upcoming summer or forever. Please help us continue to deliver quality programming in a fun, safe, and educational environment.
