Northern Lights Pathfinders Active in their Community

By Joanne M.

On a cold and blustery Saturday morning in October, the Northern Lights Pathfinders gathered at the Marché Public, in front of the Rosemere library, to sell Girl Guide Cookies and to let the community know that we are alive and kicking! We set up our table and it was so windy that we had to use rocks to hold down the promotional material! The girls handed out pamphlets, sold mint cookies and encouraged passing youngsters to participate in our teddy bear draw. If they pulled a lucky ball out of the bag they went home with a teddy bear complete with contact information for joining the movement. So many people who came by told us that they didn’t realize that the Girl Guides were still around. We sold almost 4 cases of cookies but more importantly we showed the public that Girl Guides are 100 years strong and counting!

That’s fantastic news! It is the thing that I hear the most, that they didn’t know Girl Guides are still around.
