A mosaic for the Sainte-Anne Veterans Hospital

By Sarah M.

For many years, Girl Guides of Canada has taken part in activities showing their appreciation for our veterans, and this year, girls of all ages from the Pincourt district did so by creating a wonderful mosaic for Sainte-Anne’s Hospital. Inspired by Veteran’s Week, this piece of artwork is really one of a kind! Blooming fields of poppies made out of colourful glass tiles outlined by the words of In Flanders Fields by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae create a beautiful landscape that now hangs in the hospital.

A ceremony was organized for the unveiling of the project where Girl Guides presented Sainte-Anne’s Hospital with the mosaic. The girls also had the chance to meet with some of the veterans that are now staying in what is the only remaining hospital in Canada dedicated entirely to the care of Canadian Veterans.
