Do you know the way to Yellow Fish Road?

At our event Adventure Trek coming up on Oct 15 2011, not only are we hosting exciting and fun adventurous activities, but we are also raising awareness about the quality of our local water bodies.

Do you know the way to Yellow Fish Road?

Yellow Fish Road is an initiative organized by Trout Unlimited Canada where participants paint yellow fish next to storm drains to encourage the public to consider the relationship between their gestures and the environment.

We bet you didn’t know…

  • The water that goes down a storm drain is usually not treated to remove pollutants before it reaches the local waterbody.
  • Chemicals poured down your kitchen sink drain are treated at sewage facilities in urban areas served by municipal water.
This includes non-biodegradable soaps used to wash cars, non-organic fertilizers put on lawns, cigarette butts, and other pollutants and litters.
So, consider the alternatives, and come join the effort with Québec Girl Guides at Adventure Trek!
